Chased by a vengeful criminal, the feds and a gang of otherworldly soldiers, a recently released ex-con, and his adopted teenage brother are forced to go on the run with a weapon of mysterious origin as their only protection. Despite a well talented cast and a pretty good concept? Kin is a waste opportunity of a flick i mean the acting was meh, the effects were pretty great but the storyline as a whole? Quite a mess plus i have no idea why James Franco keeps getting roles at this point the dude hasn't made a good film since Why Him? It's just sad really.

Forgettable Sci-Fi Flick..Reviewed byBatmanFunReviews2018Vote: 4/10
An all premise, no story release which just by the visuals I had to see but after the end credits rolled, that's all I had, great visuals. An adopted black teen tries to make ends meet by stripping metals from abandoned buildings in the Detroit area only to come upon several dead strewn bodies & a mysterious object which turns out to be a futuristic weapon. His estranged, recently released brother shows up from prison to make his life & their father's interesting to say the least. Based on a short called "Bagman", this film is devoid of a moral center & eerily feeds into the mania surrounding the anti-gun movement in this country by fetishistic gun use as a way to pump up one's bravery & a finalizing end to most & any disputes. W/a cast which includes Dennis Quaid (as the father), Zoe Kravitz & James Franco as the nominal villain, high minded talent were drawn to something here but the emperor has no clothes, folks. Look for a special guest star to make an appearance but once you see who produced this, it really makes sense after all.
The pacing struggled, and it was difficult to invest in any of the characters with the lone exception of Zo? Kravitz. I had to actively suspend my disbelief only a few minutes into this film.
