Its hard to dislike a film which doesn't take itself very seriouslylike this one. me and my husband thought it was really funny with thedoll doing the mickey taking Nazi salute and the Nazi boss gettingstabbed in the naughty bits. it was all just a lot of fun with a sillystory you don't have to think too much about.

The Synopsis for The Toymaker (2017) 1080p
In Nazi Germany, 1941, fearsome Colonel Ludolf Von Alvensleben acquires a legendary Occult book which holds the secret to bringing inanimate objects to life. Stolen by rogue Nazi officer Benjamin Hoffman, the mysterious book ends up in the hands of Toymaker Amos Blackwood after Benjamin is tracked down and murdered by SS officers in the town of Rosenheim. As the Nazis terrorize the locals while searching for the book, the Toymaker experiments with the ancient tome and gives life to his collection of vintage dolls and handmade toys. After betrayal from one of his employees the SS raid the Toymaker's shop, stealing the book and kidnapping Amos. But the animated dolls and toys don't take kindly to the loss of their master. So begins a mission to rescue the Toymaker from the clutches of the evil Colonel and exact a brutal and bloody revenge on the Nazis.

feels so much like the puppet master films especially the recent oneswhich were cheap and set in world war 2. but although it feels veryfamiliar it has some entertaining scenes especially the ones with theevil colonel and his dumb nazi sidekicks. if your looking for a periodworld war film with class this is not it but if you want to leave yourbrain at the door and laugh at some dolls stabbing Nazis you will likethis.
After the modern day setting of the first two films this prequel takesus back to Nazi Germany to tell the origin story of Robert the doll. The first film didn't offer a lot of explanation for the doll'sreanimation but a glimpse of a sinister toymaker character at the endof the first sequel promised an expanding of the mythology and thisthird film delivers that. We are introduced to a mysterious book theNazis want which brings toys to life and we get to know the origin ofthe Toymaker character and how he first brought the doll to life. Itsnot without its flaws mostly due to the rough edges you expect from alow budget indie film but there is more effort to provide an actualstory in this film which is much needed after the bear bone story ofthe first two films. The acting is also an improvement on the previousfilms. A solid 6 out of 10 for me.
